- Spotted testing with a probable new V2 engine
- Features new styling as well
- Currently being tested in Europe
It seems that Ducati is working on a generational update for the Multistrada V2. The bike has been spotted testing recently and the spy shots reveal a bevy of details about the bike.
The upcoming Ducati Multistrada V2 is likely to receive a massive aesthetic makeover and will now look similar to the current Multistrada V4. The front profile looks wider and houses a new set of split LED headlights with a small inlet in between at the bottom. It gets a revised beak as well and the overall setup is topped by a larger transparent visor. The side fairing is also revised and looks bigger while having the turn indicators integrated within.
Further, the new Multistrada V2 test bike appears to be housing a revamped V2 engine. The current model packs a 937cc Testastretta motor that has been doing duties early noughties. Further, Ducati also has the Superquadro motor but that has been reserved for the Streetfighter V2 and the Panigale V2.
While the test bike engine casing appears similar to that of the current Streetfighter V2, we are yet to figure out whether it's the same motor. Then, the test bike’s frame too is a new aluminum unit with a revised swingarm that replaces the older banana-shaped unit. Another hardware change on the upcoming Multistrada V2 is the shift of the monoshock. It appears to get an offset spring, unlike the current bike which uses a centrally-set shock.
Ducati recently announced that it will unveil five new bikes this year. Looking at the prototype, it appears closer to the production form and could be one of the five upcoming models from the Italian bikemaker.
