- Hero Electric to launch Eddy e-scooter soon
- Meant for short-distance commutes
- Can be ridden without license and registration
Hero Electric will soon update its portfolio by launching the new Eddy electric scooter in India. It will be priced at Rs 72,000 (ex-showroom) and is essentially meant for short-distance commuting purposes.
The detailed specifications of the Hero Eddy will be revealed at its launch which will take place soon. Although the full battery range has not been disclosed, we believe it will be around 50kms. And since it doesn’t require any registration and license to be ridden on public roads, the top speed of the Eddy will not be more than 25kmph. The company already has such low-speed models in its portfolio like the Optima and Flash.
The Hero Eddy has certain useful features as well. These include Find My Bike, E-lock, reverse mode, and Follow Me headlamps which stay on for a few seconds in the dark even after the scooter is turned off. Hero Electric will be offering the scooter in two colour options including yellow and blue. In terms of styling, the scooters look quirky with sleek and angular body panels, an exposed handlebar, and a tall backrest for the pillion.
If you are looking for slightly more affordable slow-speed electric scooters that don’t require license or registration, Okinawa and Ampere too have such offerings in their portfolio.
