- Features sporty styling
- Likely to rival the Yamaha Aerox 155
We had reported that 2023 will be an important year for Hero MotoCorp, as the company plans to foray into the premium segment. The company has already launched the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V and is gearing up to introduce even more premium products. And now, Hero MotoCorp has patented a new maxi-scooter in India.
The patent image shows that the maxi-scooter features an extremely sporty design, complete with high-set dual headlamps, a beak-like front fascia and a layered fairing. And staying true to the maxi-styling, the scooter sports a central spine like the Yamaha Aerox 155, instead of the step-through setup on conventional scooters.
It seems like the Hero maxi-scooter features two seating positions – conventional and foot-forward. It also sports a step-up seat and an edgy tail section. There’s also a tail rack for added convenience. The maxi-scooter features a telescopic fork up front and possibly an offset mono-shock at the rear. Meanwhile, it gets a disc brake at the front, while the rear could make do with a drum setup.
We aren’t sure what engine will power this new Hero maxi-scooter in India. But, it’s safe to assume that it could be something in the 125-150cc region to match its sporty demeanour. Whenever Hero MotoCorp decides to launch this maxi-scooter, it will face competition from the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Aprilia SXR 160.
