- Italian brand KL Motors launches Brera X
- Boasts an adventure scooter styling
- Unlikely to come to India
The adventure scooter category is quickly gaining popularity in the international markets, after Honda went aggressive with its ADV line of scooters. Multiple new players are now entering this territory and the most recent one to do so is the Italian two-wheeler maker, KL Motors. The company has launched the new Brera X adventure scooter in Europe which will essentially go up against the Honda ADV350.
Typical of an ADV scooter, the Brera X visually looks ready to take on the apocalypse with a demonic stance. It gets a muscular front apron with a fierce-looking headlamp, a tall windscreen, and an exposed motorcycle-like handlebar. The stubby rear section accommodates a stepped single-piece seat while it can also be equipped with hard panniers. Complementing its distinctive styling are impressive features like full-LED lighting, ABS, heated grips, adjustable windscreen, and fog lamps.
As for the hardware, the Brera X is powered by a 300cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out around 19bhp. It rides on 13-inch alloy wheels that are suspended by upside-down forks up front and dual springs at the rear. The stopping power comes from 240mm and 220mm rotors at the front and back, respectively. At 169kg, the overall kerb weight of the scooter is unarguably on the heavier side.
Now, the KL Brera X is unlikely to enter the Indian shores anytime soon. However, in a pleasant surprise, Honda recently filed a patent for the ADV350 in India which might be an indication of its imminent launch.
