Honda has filed a trademark for the CBR150R’s design in India recently. While this might not necessarily mean that the motorcycle will be launched here. However, if Honda has figured out a way to price it right, the CBR150R will be a strong rival to the Yamaha R15. So let us tell you everything you need to know about the Honda CBR150R.
Sharp styling
The Honda CBR150R sports an aggressive design language with sharp lines and creases all over. The full fairing it comes with is edgy too and sports a quad-LED headlamp setup that is similar to the CBR250RR which is sold internationally. To complete its look, the CBR150R also gets an upswept tail section and swanky colour schemes.
A 150cc mill
Underneath the aggressive fairing is a 150cc, single-cylinder motor that aims to deliver outright performance just like its rival. The liquid-cooled motor churns out 16.09bhp and 13.7Nm. However, the R15 V4 with its 155cc engine and VVA tech offers 19.3bhp and 15Nm. Moreover, with a 12-litre fuel tank and a kerb weight of 139kg, the CBR150R also weighs 2kg more than the R15.
Cycle parts and Features
As for cycle parts, the Honda CBR150R comes with upside-down forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile, its feature list includes full-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, and a fully-digital instrument cluster as standard.
Pricing
Well, as we mentioned earlier, there is no confirmation about the Honda CBR150R making its way to Indian showrooms. However, if it does, it should be priced around Rs 1.55 lakh to Rs 1.60 lakh to fully capitalize on the R15 V4’s starting price of Rs 1.72 lakh. Anything over that price bracket and the CBR150R just makes for an expensive proposition as it misses out on the traction control, quickshifter and Bluetooth connectivity that the Yamaha offers.
