- Upcoming Honda motorcycle to compete in the 150-180cc segment
- To be unveiled on 2 August, 2023
- Launch details unavailable yet
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has released the first teaser of its upcoming motorcycle that will be unveiled on 2 August, 2023. Notably, this teaser does not reveal many details about this upcoming product. However, sources close to the development have confirmed that this new product will compete in the 150-180cc motorcycle segment of the Indian market.
Since Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India already have two engines in the aforementioned displacement class – 162.7cc and 184.4cc – we expect the upcoming product to use one of these motors. For reference, the former powers the Honda Unicorn 160, while the latter is used on the CB Hornet 2.0.
The output figures, too, are likely to remain similar to that of the existing products. To give you a quick recap, the 162.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine on the Honda Unicorn 160 makes 12.73bhp and 14Nm. Meanwhile, the 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor on the Hornet 2.0 delivers 17.03bhp and 16.1Nm of peak torque.
Notably, the Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer will witness only the unveiling of this new motorcycle. However, the launch is likely to happen in the coming weeks, most likely ahead of the high-demand festive season. We expect the prices to start in the Rs. 1.05-1.15 lakh (ex-showroom) range.
