- Honda is working on a new retro-inspired scooter design
- Concept revealed via leaked documents
- Could be the design base for one of the future Honda products
Honda is working on an all-new scooter design which has been revealed via a leaked document. It comprises of images of a scooter concept featuring a design which is a beautiful blend of modern and retro styling.
The overall appearance of the concept is dominated by curvy body panels with free-flowing lines from the front apron to the pointed tail section. Notably, the apron comprises of two cascading layers with the lower part extending up to the tail which integrates a flush-fitting single-piece seat. There are certain standout elements such as chiseled alloy wheels, floating windscreen, petite mirrors and a slash-cut exhaust.
While the curvy body panels exude an old-school appeal, the presence of fully-digital display and multiple buttons in the switchgear depict modernity. Now, just like any other concept, the design of this scooter is extremely flamboyant. If it goes on to influence one of Honda’s future production scooters, the styling will certainly be toned down. Also, it will comprise of a headlamp, tail lamp and rear fender which are absent in the concept.
Currently, there are a few scooters in India which sport a retro-inspired design such as the Yamaha Fascino 125, Suzuki Access 125 and Vespa models. And seeing one such scooter from Honda, with a displacement of around 125-150cc, would be truly interesting.
