- Kawasaki W230 in the works
- Showcased at multiple motor shows across the globe
- Will be based on the brand’s existing W range
Over the last few months, Kawasaki has showcased an upcoming retro motorcycle multiple times at various motor shows. It will likely be called the W230; here is what we know about it.
Similar to the current Kawasaki W-series bike, the W230 too will get a proper old-school styling. Its design cues will include a round headlight, a peanut-shaped fuel tank, and a single-piece seat with a ribbed cover. The overall bodywork too will be minimal just like the current W175 and the W800.
The details regarding its engine, output figures, and more are yet to be revealed. However, you can expect a single-cylinder oil-cooled engine with a five-speed gearbox. On the feature front, the W230 will likely get dual analogue pods, ABS, and a side-stand sensor.
Kawasaki will equip the W230 with telescopic front forks, dual rear springs, a single front and rear disc brake, and spoke wheels with tubed tyres. This is the same setup that its current retro bikes get.
As of now, Kawasaki is yet to make an official announcement for the launch details and the pricing. We think the W230 will first debut in the international market and may be then brought to India.
