- Upcoming KTM 990 Duke spied
- Likely to get a bigger engine and updated electronics
- Global unveil likely by end of 2022
KTM has been spotted testing what seems like the 990 Duke. While the manufacturer already has the 790 and 890 Duke, the move to a bigger capacity motorcycle could be due to the emission and noise regulations that seems to get stricter by the day.
Now, the KTM 990 Duke is expected to get a heavily revised version of the 890 Duke’s engine. There is no confirmed information about its power figures, but it will surely come with a performance bump compared to the 890. However, we can see that KTM has made minor changes to accommodate the engine and has also added a new swingarm to the mix. This swingarm is beefier yet more hollowed and redesigned for the new exhaust.
Moreover, the upcoming 990 Duke is also expected to get new bodywork that looks more aggressive thanks to the new radiator shrouds and fuel tank design. From the rear, though, the motorcycle seems to have taken inspiration from the 690 Duke of yore. Another interesting bit about the design is the new stacked headlamp that adds a bit of radicalism; something that KTM fans adore.
Now, we can expect KTM to unveil the 990 Duke by the end of the year for global markets although it is unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon.
