- GPX GR200R Da Corsa 2 launched in Malaysia
- Makes 19bhp and 17.5Nm of torque
- Won’t come to India anytime soon
Thailand-based motorcycle manufacturer, GPX, has unveiled a new limited-edition model of the Demon GR200R sportbike in Malaysia. The small-sized, fully-faired offering goes up against the Yamaha R15 V4 and the KTM RC 200.
GPX is quite a popular brand in Southeast Asian markets for its interesting small-capacity two-wheeler portfolio. The model it has now launched in Malaysia is the special edition trim of the GR200R. Christened the Da Corsa 2, this iteration of the sportbike is available in three colours – Daytona Black, Da Corsa Blue, and Racing Grey. All these dual-tone paint schemes sport a map of the Mugello circuit on the fuel tank. The entire set of decals beautifully complements the sharp and aggressive bodywork of the GR200R. It seems to have taken design inspiration from bigger sportbikes like the Yamaha R1 and the BMW S1000RR.
Propelling this GPX offering is a 198cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 19bhp of max power and 17.5Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. All the power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission system. Underpinned by a steel trellis frame, the GR200R rides on 17-inch alloy wheels that are suspended by upside-down forks and a monoshock, both sourced from YSS. A petal-type disc brake handles the braking duties at both ends. On the feature front, GPX has incorporated full-LED lighting and a fancy-looking LCD console that shows all the crucial data.
In the Malaysian market, the GPX Demon GR200R Da Corsa 2 Limited Edition is priced at RM 12,588 (approximately Rs 2.21 lakh). Unfortunately, the chances of GPX coming to India anytime soon are negligible.
