- New Super Duke 1390R gets a 190bhp-producing engine
- Features new LED headlight design
- Europe launch soon
KTM has taken the wraps off a potent motorcycle – the new Super Duke 1390R. This motorcycle is a successor to the 1290 Super Duke.
To create this new hyper-fast street bike, the Austrian brand reworked every possible department to make it powerful, lighter, agile, and feature-rich. Its overall styling resembles that of the outgoing model, but the LED headlight and winglets’ design are new.
The fuel tank is now bigger at 17.5 litres, and the wheels have been marginally redesigned. The Super Duke 1390R is powered by a new 1,350cc LC8 engine, now making a whopping 190bhp of peak power. A new cam shift system has been installed to churn out a broader power and torque spread. The bike also gets a redesigned airbox and shorter throttle bodies. Moreover, the ram air system has been redesigned, too, for more direct airflow into the engine. The top two gears have also been revised for use over a more comprehensive speed range.
The 1390R gets a host of electronics – riding modes, a lean-sensitive traction control system, full-colour TFT, TPMS, and more. There’s also an option to add an advanced anti-wheelie feature, which can be entirely switched off.
This new Super Duke 1390R will go on sale in Europe very soon, and we can expect it to be priced a bit higher than the outgoing model.
