- Teased on Ola Electric’s official social media handles
- Gets different handlebar setup and round mirrors
- Likely to be priced lower than S1 Air
Ola Electric seems to be revamping its product portfolio. The brand teased a new e-scooter on its social media handles just a few days after discontinuing the S1 variant. Here’s what we know and expect from the upcoming Ola S1 scooter, going by the recent teaser image.
The image reveals a different handlebar and slightly different switch-cubes too. Then, there are the round mirrors and a new headlight cowl, hinting at subtle cosmetic tweaks. We expect Ola to carry over the same design on the remaining elements and retain the hardware from the S1 Air. Since the upcoming Ola electric scooter is expected to sit below the S1 Air, it could receive a slightly shorter feature list, and a lower range as well as top speed. Currently, the S1 Air houses a 3kWh battery that is linked to a 4.5kW motor(peak power). It offers 90kmph of top speed and 125km of total range.
We expect Ola to equip the new S1 model with LED illumination, as seen in the teaser, a fully digital console and ride modes too. However, it won’t be a surprise if the console isn’t a touchscreen. Speaking of the hardware, the new Ola e-scooter is likely to get the same telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks. This will be accompanied by drum brakes at both ends.
Ola will launch its new product on 15 August, which is just a few days away from now. You can expect it to cost less than the S1 Air which is currently priced at Rs. 1,09,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). With that said, the prices for the Air trim will be hiked by Rs. 10,000 post the aforementioned date and it’ll then retail at Rs. 1,19,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
