Yamaha launched the Crosser 150 in Brazil recently. While the motorcycle is unlikely to make its way to the Indian market anytime soon, here we tell you all there is to know about this intriguing new motorcycle from Yamaha.
Motocross styling
The Yamaha Crosser sports a tall stance with minimalist bodywork. Available in two versions, the S variant gets a shorter beak while the Z variant comes with a longer beak and fork gaiters for added off-road ability. The Crosser also gets a small headlamp with a fly screen, fuel tank extensions with air scoops that seem to be synonymous with Yamaha now, as well as an upswept, side-mounted, and high-slung exhaust canister.
Feature list
Since Yamaha has aimed at simplicity with the Crosser, the motorcycle gets basic features like a conventionally-lit headlamp and a semi-digital instrument cluster. It also gets ABS to comply with safety standards.
Petrol/Ethanol powered engine
With a 149cc, 2-valve engine that produces 12.2bhp and 12.74Nm, the Yamaha Crosser 150 isn’t big on numbers. But it has something interesting to offer. The engine can run on petrol as well as ethanol and even offers 0.1bhp more when running on the latter.
Off-road focused
Apart from its off-road ready bodywork, the Yamaha Crosser also rides on 19/17-inch spoke wheels that are shod with Metzeler Tourance dual-purpose tyres. Moreover, it also comes with long-travel suspension for both ends to further complete its purpose. In addition to that, the Yamaha Crosser 150 also boasts of a low 134kg kerb weight, although its 845mm seat height would be an issue for shorter riders.
