- 2022 YamahaJupiter 135LC enters Malaysia
- Gets a host of updates
- Won’t be launched in India
Yamaha’s Malaysian arm has launched the new version of the Jupiter 135L underbone-style two-wheeler. The new model year gets a host of changes over its predecessor in terms of styling as well as mechanicals.
Yamaha has tweaked the entire bodywork of the Jupiter 135LC to make it looks sportier than before. The handlebar-mounted headlamp, apron-mounted turn indicators, and tail lamp have all been revised to look sharper. The feature list of the underbone is pretty modest with an LCD console that misses out on Bluetooth connectivity, a USB charger, a front storage compartment, and a 4.6-litre fuel tank.
The 135cc engine of the Jupiter has been tweaked to comply with new emission regulations. So, the previous carbureted setup has been replaced by fuel injection and it produces around 12bhp of power and 12.2Nm of peak torque. These figures are slightly higher than its predecessor. The cycle parts of the Jupiter have been improved with the inclusion of a rear disc brake, along with the front disc which was already available. Damping duties are handled by telescopic forks and a monoshock and its kerb weight stands at 109kg.
In Malaysia, the Yamaha Jupiter 135LC has been priced at RM 7798 (approximately Rs 1.43 lakh). The underbone will not be launched in India since there’s no market for such vehicles here.
