- 2021 Yamaha NVX unveiled in Malaysia
- Will arrive at dealerships across Malaysia in May itself
- First Yamaha model in Malaysia that features the Y–Connect app
Yamaha Motors has introduced the 2021 NVX in the Malaysian market. The maxi-scooter looks pretty lean and sharp in terms of the design. It also gets features like keyless start, all LED lights, idle start-stop system, 12V DC outlet, fully digital LCD instrument cluster and connected technology. The customers can download the Y-Connect app to browse through information such as fuel consumption, service reminder, vehicle health check and to identify the vehicle's last location.
Powering the scooter is a 155cc liquid-cooled VVA engine that produces 15.19bhp at 8000rpm and 13.9Nm at 9000rpm. The suspension duty on the scooter is handled by a telescopic fork at the front and a swingarm at the rear. It is equipped with hardware such as a 230mm disc brake at the front and a drum at the rear. It also gets a 5.5-litre fuel tank capacity, which is 0.9 litre bigger than its predecessor.
There are two variants on offer, Standard and ABS, which are priced respectively at RM 8,998 and 10,998. The Standard variant converts to Rs 1.61 lakh. Whereas, the ABS version converts to Rs 1.97 lakh. The Standard variant is available with two colour options, Red and Cyan. Meanwhile, the ABS variant is available with Platinum SE and GP Blue colours. The NVX competes against the Honda PCX, Sym Jet 14 and Yamaha NMAX in the Malaysian market. However, the arrival of the maxi-scooter in India is unlikely.
