- The video shows short glimpses of the motorcycle
- It will be introduced in off-road and on-road versions
- More bikes will be introduced based on the same platform
It was only recently that Norton teased its upcoming scrambler model in a short video and now the bikemaker has posted yet another teaser, this time with a clearer view of the bike. To be called the Atlas, the Norton scrambler can be seen in quick glances in the video along with its older counterpart which was introduced in 1963.
The video reveals several details about the motorcycle. The tank incorporates deep knee recesses, short chrome-finished front fender, round headlamp with nacelle and a twin-pod instrument cluster sitting behind a short fly screen. The single-unit wide handlebar, up-swept exhaust and tall stance, all complete its quintessential scrambler aesthetics.
Norton had previously released renderings of the motorcycle which signified that the Atlas will be launched in two versions – off-road and road-biased model. The motorcycle will boast of a crude design pattern similar to its older scrambler model. Powering the Atlas will be a 650cc parallel-twin motor which will be fastened in a tubular steel frame. The same platform is likely to spawn a lineup of other motorcycles in the future.
The Norton Atlas will be showcased publicly on 17 November at the Motorcycle Live 2018 event at NEC Birmingham in the UK. It is likely to come to India by late-2019 and it will be sold via Motoroyale outlets.
