- Based on Norton Commando 961
- Limited to 77 units worldwide
- One unit likley to be alloted for India
British motorcycle manufacturer, Norton has taken the wraps off a special edition motorcycle called the Breitling Sport. The motorcycle is built in collaboration with watch maker, Breitling.
The Breitling Sport is shares its underpinnings with the Commando 961 which is available in India. However, it is limited to just 77 units worldwide. And to justify its exclusivity, the Norton Breitling Sport gets a differently contoured seat, blacked-out parts like the fork bottles and chome bits that include the headlamp cowl and rear springs. Furthermore, the Breitling Sport also comes with shorter exhaust canisters and the Breitling badging on the seat and engine cover.
It also gets a black and silver paint job with golden pinstripes that is unique to the Breitling Sport. On the other hand, Norton hasn't changed the mechanicals of the motorcycle and it continues to be powered by a 961cc, parallel-twin motor. This unit produces 79bhp of power and 90Nm of torque.
We expect Norton to bring at least one unit of the Breitling Sport in India and retail it through Kinetic's Motoroyale showrooms. And if it does arrive it is likely to demand a premium over the standard Commando 961 which retails at Rs 20.98 lakhs (ex-showroom).
