- Norton to develop an electric bike
- Bike likely to be unveiled in 2025
- Will focus on performance, range
TVS-owned Norton Motorcycles has also decided to explore the world of green vehicles. The company has just announced its plans to develop an electric motorcycle.
This new project has been named Project Zero Emission Norton and is being funded by the UK government’s Advanced Propulsion Centre 19 unit. While there aren’t a lot of details regarding this project as of now, the company did say it has set a 2 and a half years timeframe for developing this product.
The British brand is looking to develop a motorcycle that will offer both – performance and range. In terms of design, the bike is expected to carry the same Norton design philosophy but can also have a lot of modern design elements in it.
For this project, the company has tied up with a few more companies that will help them get the right product to the market. Most of these companies have already worked in the EV space and have tons of experience in the segment and the industry. There’s still no information if TVS plans to contribute to this project officially but we are quite sure a few engineers from Hosur will make frequent visits to the UK in the coming months.
