Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer, Oben Electric has announced the delivery details of its first product, the Oben Rorr in India. The company has confirmed that the deliveries of this electric motorcycle will start in the first week of July 2023.
Notably, Oben Electric had recently announced the inauguration of its first experience centre in HSR Layout, Bengaluru. The two-wheeler maker added in its press announcement that it has a distribution network in major Indian cities and plans to meet the demand of 21,000 pre-orders by scaling up its manufacturing capacity.
This electric motorcycle from the Bengaluru-based manufacturer is claimed to pack 21 patents and 95 per cent component-level localisation. Further, the product uses a 10kW IPMSM motor that is said to have been developed in-house and boasts a 0-40kmph acceleration time of three seconds.
Meanwhile, the top speed is rated at 100kmph and the company claims an IDC range of 187km. Oben Electric also claims that this is the first-in-segment LFP (Lithium Ferrous Phosphorous) cell technology-based battery pack that has been designed and developed in-house. It is said to deliver two times longer battery life and 50 per cent higher heat resistance. This 4.4kWh battery pack is claimed to carry a full recharge time of 120 minutes.
Apart from announcing the details about the deliveries of its first electric motorcycle, Oben Electric has also announced a 360-degree R&D roadmap, including the development and testing of a prototype for its second product that is set to launch in 2024.
