- Official documents confirm two models
- To be launched in India in 2024
- Will rival HeroVida V1, Ola S1, and their likes
Official documents from Honda Global have confirmed that the Japanese manufacturer will launch two electric scooters in the Indian market in 2024. While the exact timeline is not available yet, these documents confirm that the India-bound electric scooters will “explore power sourced other than swappable batteries to expand options for customers to choose from.”
Further, the documents reveal the silhouette of these upcoming electric scooters. One appears to be a sporty version while the other seems like a family-oriented scooter. The former could draw styling cues from the Honda Dio while the latter may look similar to the company’s highest-selling scooter in India, the Activa.
The finer details such as the motor capacity, battery range, and charging time are not available yet. However, we expect their numbers to be at par with the existing products in India such as the Hero Vida V1, Ather 450, and Ola S1. Then, similar to the competition, we expect these Honda electric scooters to be available in multiple variants. These will most likely be distinguished based on their battery capacity and charging time.
The feature list would be at par with the competition, and these new Honda electric scooters should pack full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display, a combined braking system, and a smartphone application.
