Mahindra has officially announced that it will launch 110cc Centuro premium motorcycle in the second quarter of this fiscal year. The Centuro is a first motorcycle in the 100cc-125cc segment which is technologically very advanced. It was unveiled during a function in Pune in January this year but Mahindra did not provide a date for when the two-wheeler would be launched.
The Centuro features a "central locking" anti-theft system along with an engine immobiliser, a remote 128 bit encrypted flip key which is first in its class. It also features "find me" lamps that will help an owner locate his motorcycle in a crowded parking lot and guide lamps that will remain lit for seven seconds after switching off the ignition. The speedo is fully digital with white backlighting for better visibility. The motorcycle also features distance-to-empty fuel calculator and service due indicator.
"Whether it is 150-cc or 300-cc, our intent is to have a proper portfolio to be a player of substance or relevance in the two-wheeler market. We will be there at the right time." said Dharmendra Mishra, vice president, sales and customer care, Mahindra Two Wheelers.
We are expecting the Centuro to be priced in the range of Rs 48,000 to Rs 53,000.
