The Gurgaon-based electric two-wheeler brand, Okinawa, has introduced its new Extended Warranty Program (EWP) for its entire range of electric scooters in India. The company has partnered with USA-based Assurant Inc. for the same.
The warranty program covers powertrain components like traction motors, controllers, DC-DC converters, and chargers. The company also claims that it’s the first EV brand to offer a warranty on elements like the wiring harness and frame of its electric scooters. The prices of extended warranty (up to two years) start from Rs 2,287 and go up to Rs 5,494 and they vary depending on the electric scooter model. The scheme can be availed of by new and up to three-year-old Okinawa customers.
Okinawa’s India portfolio of electric scooters comprises as many as eight models which include low-speed and high-speed scooters. The most premium and interesting of them all is the OKHI-90 which boasts a maxi-scooter-like styling and runs on large 16-inch alloy wheels. It’s priced at Rs 1.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). As for the brand’s retail network, it has dealerships in over 540 cities across India and the aforementioned extended warranty can be purchased at any of these stores in the country.
