Ola Electric has announced that it has expanded its showroom presence to almost 4000 showrooms in India. The company had 800 showrooms in total until last week.
The addition of 3,200 showrooms has been done so that the company can expand its presence all over India, which is likely to increase its overall sales and market share. The company believes that in order to reach every household in India, it has to aggressively expand its retail presence. Interestingly, no information has been released related to servicing aspects of these new stores.
Ola Electric was in the news a few weeks ago due to its poor after-sales experience. Many of their e-scooter consumers complained about the lack of spares, service, and even clarity related to their vehicles. Photos and videos circulated showing a lot of S1 scooters parked at random places.
While these service-related issues have managed to die down, it will be quite interesting to see how the brand handles its upcoming service pressure. With the launch of such a large number of stores, the sales are going to increase but if the brand isn't able to cater to the servicing needs of these customers, it will pull the brand image and recall down of the company, along with the stock price as seen in the past. As of now, there aren’t addresses of these newly added stores on its official website. So it is a bit difficult to confirm if these new stories are operational.
