- Multiple changes to be made to the battery, electronics, and motor setup
- Could spawn a few more scooter models
- Likely to integrate new Gen 3 battery pack as well
Apart from its first-ever electric motorcycle launch, Ola has now teased a new platform for its future products as well. It is the Gen 3 platform and the teased video reveals a bevvy of details about it.
Ola Electric could spawn a few more scooter models using the upcoming Gen 3 base. This could comprise the commuter along with a sporty and a touring scooter as well. Further, the brand has been quite vocal about developing in-house battery cells along with the pack and it has teased the same in this video. Ola says that the new 4689 cells will not only be larger in diameter but also hold more power, thanks to its density advantage over the existing 2170 battery cell setup.
Further, Ola seems to have refined the structure to integrate the motor, battery, and electronics setup into one. The Aluminium frame will be built around the new Gen 3 battery which will also make it as a stressed member. Ola has also claimed to bring down the number of processors to one for the Gen 3 as compared to 10 and four for the Gen 1 and Gen 2 platform. This will further minimise the wiring setup and its complexity using the revised architecture.
The brand has further teased ADAS for its future offerings. However, we have already seen an Ola S1 test scooter with the said safety feature a while back.
