Ola Electric has expressed its interest in the electric motorcycle segment for a while and recently showcased a few concepts of the same. The lineup included four models: Roadster, Diamondhead, ADV and the Cruiser. Let’s take a look at the Roadster.
Of the four, the Ola Electric Roadster seems to be closest to a real-world and practical design. It features large side panels but looks quite sleek. The LED headlight design appears quite distinct and looks flush with the overall styling of the Roadster.
The turn indicators have been integrated into the white tank shrouds and look neat. The Roadster chassis remains slightly exposed right below the rider’s seat. Ola has equipped the concept bike with a three-piece seat and the first section extends over the tank area.
Ola has equipped the Roadster EV with a single-piece handlebar that sweeps towards the rider. And at the center is the digital instrument console. While its details are scarce, we expect it to house the basic readouts like a speedometer, trip meter, odometer, battery level readout, distance to empty, and clock and also have smartphone connectivity along with riding modes.
The motor and battery details are yet to be made public since this is a concept. However, it appears that the Roadster could get a chain drive system with a mid-mounted motor.
On the hardware front, the Roadster is equipped with USD front forks and an offset monoshock. The braking hardware comprises dual front discs and a single rear disc with ABS. This setup is mounted on alloy wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres.
Ola Electric says the pre-reserve for its electric motorcycles is open and they’ll be introduced at the end of next year.
