- Ola takes the 4th spot in June
- Registers 5869 units in June
- Okinawa took the 1st spot
Ola Electric has slipped to the fourth spot when it comes to overall electric scooter registrations. The company registered 5869 e-scooters in June.
According to VAHAN data, Okinawa registered the most scooter at 6976, followed by Ampere at 6534 units. Hero Electric took the third spot as it registered 6484 e-scooters last month. Ather Energy moved up by registering 3797 units.
One of the reasons Ola didn’t manage to sell a lot of e-scooters is the growing concerns over EV fire. Over the last few months, there have been plenty of fire incidents that could have changed the perception of EVs when it comes to safety. This change in perception could take a while to fix but once that is done, we can expect two-wheeler EV sales to see good growth.
