- Ola S1 Air launched at Rs 79,999
- Features smaller battery and motor
- Open for pre-bookings at Rs 999
Ola Electric has launched its third electric scooter, the S1 Air, in India. It’s the most affordable product from the brand with an introductory price tag of Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom including FAME II subsidy).
The Air iteration of the scooter boasts several changes over the S1 and S1 Pro. To start with the design, while the overall bodywork is nearly the same, the lower part of the S1 Air is finished in black which lends it a more toned-down look. It also gets a different wheel design and a more traditional-looking pillion grab rail. There are five colour options to choose from including blue, white, red, black, and grey.
Moving on to the hardware, propelling the S1 Air is a smaller 4.5kW hub-mounted motor, as opposed to the mid-mounted motor in its more premium siblings. Similarly, the battery pack is also a smaller 2.5kWh unit which is claimed to have an IDC range of 101km. As for its top speed, Ola says it registers a respectable figure of 90kmph. To bring the cost down, Ola has skimped on the braking hardware by bestowing it with a drum at both ends with a disc not available even as an option.
Interestingly, the Ola S1 Air buyers will get an almost as comprehensive an electronic suite as its more premium iterations. The list of features comprises three riding modes including Eco, Regular, and Sport. Moreover, there’s a seven-inch touchscreen display, multiple ride profiles, smartphone connectivity, and music and call control. It also gets a party mode which plays music on its speakers through the connected smartphone.
One can reserve the Ola S1 Air online by paying Rs 999 starting today and the payment window will open in the first week of February 2023. The deliveries, meanwhile, are claimed to commence in the first week of April 2023.
