Spy pictures of the soon to be launched Mahindra Pantero have been posted by our friends at Autocar India. The motorcycle, previously known as the Stallio, was been spotted testing on Pune-Ahmednagar highway and the pictures showed us that the test mule is ready-to-go-to-production model.
The Mahindra Stallio was launched in October 2010 but was later discontinued from the Indian market due to multiple technical issues. With this new motorcycle, the company has just done some external changes (mostly badging) and has hopefully addressed all the problems that the bike was plagued with previously.
The Stallio will continue to be powered by an 110cc four stroke motor which produces 7.3bhp at 7500rpm and 8Nm at 5500rpm. The mill has been mated to a four speed manual gearbox. The new commuter motorcycle will compete directly with Suzuki Hayate, Honda Dream Yuga and Hero Passion XPro.
The Pantero will be launched early next month around the same time that we are expecting the company to launch their much awaited premium motorcycle, the Mojo.
