Peugeot has unveiled a brand new scooter to tackle the world's broken terrains. The XP400 is one rugged-looking scooter that will rival the Honda X-ADV scooter.
Peugeot XP400 maxi-scooter: Styling
The Peugeot XP 400 is available in two variants – The Allure and the GT. The former is road-focused, whereas the latter has been made to go off-road. Regarding styling, both scooters get prominent fascia with sharp design elements. The large twin-pod LED headlight is placed just below the tinted windscreen, which is non-adjustable. The only way to distinguish between these models is through the wheels. The GT gets wire-spoke wheels, whereas the GT is fitted with alloy wheels.
Peugeot XP400 maxi-scooter: Performance and features
Both the variants of the Peugeot XP400 are powered by a new 400cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which produces 36.7bhp of peak power and 38Nm of maximum torque. This motor makes this maxi-scooter the most potent segment – with products like the Honda X-ADV, BMW C400X and the Suzuki Burgman 40.
This scooter rides on 17-inch wheels – a size seen on motorcycles. The suspension duties are taken care of by 41mm upside-down forks at the front and dual-shock at the back. Interestingly, the French maker has equipped the scooter with 295mm dual discs at the front and a single 240mm disc at the rear. ABS and traction control systems come as standard.
The XP400 comes with a full-colour TFT screen that displays many ride data. A Bluetooth system is handy if the rider wants to check the overall data.
Peugeot XP400 maxi-scooter: India launch and pricing
The Peugeot XP400 has been priced at Rs 7.2 lakh for the Allure variant and Rs 7.3 lakh for the GT variant. It is straightforward with such pricing that there's no market for such scooters in India. As a result of this, Peugeot won't launch this scooter in India in the near future.
