- 2023 MP3 530 HPE unveiled
- Gets bigger engine
- Equipped with lot more tech
Piaggio has just unveiled the 2023 version of its famous three-wheeled scooter brand – the MP3. In fact, the company decided to upgrade its entire family and not just a single model.
The MP3 gets a sharper and more aggressive fascia as the body panels have deep creases now. The rear too looks so much better than the outgoing model. The scooter gets a tall windscreen, a new horizontal light unit and a sportier looking air intake.
In terms of tech, this scooter is now equipped with colour TFT screen that shows plenty of ride data. This cluster is Bluetooth-enabled and has GPS connectivity as well. The switchgear design has also been revised for better ergonomics comfort. The main highlight is the presence of ARAS – adaptive rider assistance system. This feature is seen on some expensive motorcycles like Ducati Multistrada V4.
Regarding performance, the MP3 530HPE gets a more powerful 530cc engine that produces more than 44bhp. The upgrades have come in the form of new light alloy aluminium cast pistons, larger valves, and camshaft with optimised valve timing. This scooter gets three ride modes – eco, comfort and sport. Sport mode is where the throttle is the most responsive. In comfort mode, it's smoother and progressive whereas the eco is the least exciting but maximises fuel efficiency.
The 2023 Piaggio MP3 530HPE is available in four colour options and sadly none of it will come to India as the brand feels there’s no market for three-wheeled scooter in the country.
