Polarity, a Pune-based startup, is all set to make its debut in India on 20 September by unveiling as many as six pedal-assisted smart electric bikes in the country.
The company’s portfolio consists of e-bikes divided into two categories including Sport and Executive which will differ in terms of styling and purpose. While the former consists of models named as the E1K, E2K and E3K, the latter comprises of the S1K, S2k and S3K. Each of these pedal-assisted bikes will integrate a lithium-ion battery within the frame which will power hub-mounted motor ranging from 1-3kW. What’s more, the bikes weigh less than 60kg and are claimed to achieve a top speed of up to 100kmph!
The Polarity bikes will offer a minimum range of 80kms on a full charge while pedalling will charge the battery further to extend the range. Besides being a mobility solution, these bikes can also be converted into a stationary bicycle as an exercise tool. The bikes will be equipped with top-notch hardware including upside-down forks up front, monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends and dual-purpose tyres to tackle varying terrains. Furthermore, features such as LED lights and fully-digital instrument cluster will also be on offer.
The Polarity e-bikes are manufactured in India which should help keep the pricing in check. The pre-bookings for the e-bikes will commence on the day of unveiling at Rs 1,001. The bikes will be officially launched around the first week of November while deliveries will commence by the end of 2019.
