- Polestar X Cake Makka debuts globally
- Offers 55km range, 45kmph top-speed
- Priced at the equivalent of Rs 4.38 lakh
Polestar, which was once Volvo’s performance brand, is now focusing on electric vehicles. And more interestingly, the company has also unveiled its first e-scooter called the Makka in collaboration with another Swedish manufacturer, CAKE.
While CAKE already has a standard Makka e-scooter, the one built with Polestar is a limited edition and comes fitted with some upgrades. The e-scooter gets a minimalist chassis painted in the iconic Polestar Blue with a circular LED headlamp, a flat single seat and a petite tail rack. The e-scooter rides on dual-sport tyres with spoke wheels for more practicality.
What’s interesting though, is the premium Ohlins TTX22 shock it comes with. As for its performance, the Polestar Cake Makka runs on a 1.5kWh battery and 1.55kW. This package offers a range of 55km and a top-speed of 45kmph. The battery can be charged from zero to 100 in three hours, which is nominal.
CAKE has equipped the Makka with two modes that limit to speed to 45kmph and 25kmph each along with a regenerative braking system too. Moreover, it is also offering a range of accessories with the e-scooter like surf racks, top boxes and passenger/child seats too.
As for its availability, the Polestar Cake Makka will only be available in markets where Polestar is present. Hence, it is unlikely to make its way to India in the near future.
