- European launch likely soon
- Production started in Chakan in 2020
- Based on the KTM 125 Duke
KTM India has commenced the production of the 125cc Husqvarna models at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan factory near Pune, India. The production had commenced in 2020, and the motorcycles are scheduled to enter the European markets soon. The entry-level Husqvarna models, which are based on the KTM 125 Duke, may arrive in India, although the launch details are not available yet.
The 125cc model line draws styling cues from the respective Husqvarna 250 models. The feature list will comprise full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and swingarm-mounted tyre hugger. However, unlike the Husqvarna 250 range, the 125 series will use wire-spoke wheels.
The mechanical specifications will be similar to the 125 Duke. The 125cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox, and it is tuned to produce 15bhp of power and 12Nm of peak torque.
The hardware on the Husqvarna 125 model range will comprise WP-sourced upside-down telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the shock absorption tasks. The anchoring setup will include disc brakes with ByBre calipers on both wheels while the safety net will comprise ABS.
