- Targeted at the electric commuter segment
- Claimed to deliver 135km battery range
- Official launch in January
Pure EV, a Hyderabad-based electric two-wheeler brand, has taken the wraps off its new electric motorcycle, the ecoDryft. The company says this e-motorcycle belongs to the daily commuter segment and has been completely developed and manufactured in India.
Pure EV launched the ETryst 350 electric motorcycle last year but, with a pricing of Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom), it lies in the premium segment. On the contrary, the ecoDryft will be a more affordable offering meant for people looking to buy a daily workhorse with lower running costs than ICE commuters. The prices of the e-bike will be announced in January 2023.
Unlike the existing electric motorcycles which look fancy and futuristic, the ecoDryft looks quite simple. It gets an angular headlamp surrounded by minimalistic cowl, a rounded fuel tank, and a stubby tail section. It will be available in four colour options – black, grey, blue, and red. As for the technical aspects, Pure EV has revealed that the e-bike can attain a top speed of 75kmph while its 3kWh AIS-certified battery pack delivers a range of 135kms.
Ahead of the ecoDryft’s launch and commencement of bookings, Pure EV says it is ready with the required inventory. Furthermore, the Hyderabad-based EV brand has its dealership reach in 100 cities across India and is working on expanding it further in major cities.
