- It’s based on the brand’s existing 554cc engine
- It's the same motor as the Benelli Leoncino 500's
- Could serve as the base for the Benelli Tornado 550
Chinese two-wheeler brand, QJ Motor has teased one of its upcoming middleweight supersports. It’s a 550cc offering and here are all the details.
The upcoming QJ Motor supersport will pack a 550cc parallel-twin motor which is currently being used in the Benelli Leoncino 500 and the TRK 502 range, since Benelli is owned by the Chinese brand.
In the existing setup, the engine belts out 46.8 bhp and 46 Nm for the Leoncino 500. However, QJ Motor could tune if for a bit more juice to add to the supersport’s character. Apart from that, it’s likely to see no changes.
As for the design, the teaser image reveals that the bike will feature a proper supersport design. It gets split LED headlights (reminiscent of the Ducati Panigale V4) and even appendages on the sides, which will more or less serve the aesthetics.
Moreover, the upcoming QJ Motor supersport also gets a single sided swingarm, USD forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, the braking hardware consists of dual front discs.
All said and done, Benelli also has the Tornado 550 on the charts and it could very well benefit from the new QJ Motor offering.
