- QJ unveils SRT 550 X adventure motorcycle
- Meant for the European markets
- Prices yet to be announced
Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer, QJ Motor has taken the wraps off its new adventure touring motorcycle, the SRT 550 X. This mid-size offering is mainly built for the European markets where it will take on the extremely likeable Honda NX500.
The SRT 550 X is based on the SRK 550 naked street bike. The underpinnings are also majorly similar to the TRK 552X from Benelli, a company owned by QJ Motor. However, the SRT boasts a different design with an oval-shaped headlamp which is covered by a glass casing along with a tall windscreen. Giving it a purposeful look are sturdy-looking knuckle guards, cross-spoke wheels (optional), radiator guards, a belly pan, saddle stays, and a top box base.
Powering the SRT 550 X is a 554cc, parallel-twin engine that produces close to 61bhp. It will also be available as an A2 version in Europe which will have its power output dialed down to 47bhp. It rides on a 19-17-inch alloy wheel combination that is suspended by chunky upside-down forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Quite impressively, braking is handled by Brembo calipers fitted onto dual discs up front and a single rotor at the rear. Dual-channel ABS comes as standard fitment.
As of now, the prices of the QJ SRT 550 X haven’t been announced for the international markets but, just like most other made-in-China products, they’re expected to be on the lower side. While QJ is present in India with four motorcycles, we don’t expect the SRT to arrive on our shores anytime soon.
