- QJ SRK 421RR to be unveiled in November
- Powered by a 421cc, inline-four engine
- Better power-to-weight ratio than the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R
Chinese two-wheeler giant, QJ Motor, is reportedly preparing to unveil a new, small-size, four-cylinder sportbike at this year’s EICMA show in Milan. It will be called the SRK 421RR and, going by the overall body style and engine configuration, it will directly compete against the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R in the international markets.
Some details about the motorcycle have already been leaked, besides a single picture that has been circulating on the internet. The highlight of the bike is inarguably the 421cc, inline four-cylinder motor which revs up to 14,000rpm and makes 76.5bhp - marginally higher than the power output of its Japanese rival. Plus, at 176kg, its kerb weight is as much as 13kg lighter than the ZX-4R which weighs 189kg. So, the Chinese offering is clearly winning the power-to-weight ratio game.
However, the QJ SRK 421RR might be more basic on the hardware front. It is underpinned by a double-beam frame with an aluminium swingarm. While the front forks are a chunky pair of USDs, it’s not confirmed whether they’ll have any adjustability, something that the Ninja ZX-4RR offers. The braking setup comprises dual discs up front and a single rotor at the rear with dual-channel ABS by Bosch.
The rest of the details about the QJ SRK 421RR, including its thorough technical specifications, prices and availability, will be revealed at the EICMA. Also, looking at how inactive QJ Motor has been in India since its entry in November 2022, we don’t expect the SRK to come to our shores, at least not in the near future.
