- Both bikes will be powered by a 693cc parallel twin motor pushing 75bhp
- The two models could serve as a base for upcoming Benelli or MV Agusta bikes
- These will directly rival the Yamaha R7
It seems that Chinese two-wheeler maker, QJMotor, has its eyes set on the European market. The same can be confirmed from a recently leaked type-approval document that QJMotor has filed for its two upcoming 700cc supersport offerings.
QJMotor’s latest offerings will aim to ruffle the feathers in Yamaha R7’s nest. The design is quite aggressive with a sharp fascia housing split LED headlights topped by a transparent visor. The two even get wings on both sides, which should help with a little downforce but mostly serve the aesthetic appeal.
Both the QJMotor supersports bikes are powered by a 693cc parallel twin motor tuned to pump out 75bhp, topping the R7’s 72.4bhp claim. However, the Chinese offerings tip the weight scale at around 193kg which is 5kg heavier than the Yamaha R7’s weight.
QJMotor has ties with MV Agusta and Harley-Davidson to manufacture the parts on the latter two’s behalf. So, it employs the same, premium underpinnings as MV and H-D bikes do. The 700cc duo gets Marzocchi suspension, Nissin brakes. But, the base model gets a conventional swingarm whereas the higher spec bike uses a single-sided swingarm.
The Chinese brand is yet to unveil any details officially, and we expect it to do so during 2022 EICMA.
