- Operations commence in close to 100 cities
- Captains to install the Aarogya Setu app
- Currently operating in Green and Orange zones
Rapido has announced that it has resumed operations in close to 100 cities, starting 3 June 2020. The company is following the guidelines announced by the Government for Unlock 1.0.
The company said in its press announcement that the bike taxi service comes with the advantage of less exposure to any infection as compared to crowded alternate ways such as cabs, buses, autos and trains.
The company said that the Captain (rider of the vehicle) and the passenger will use safety equipment such as masks, hairnets, sanitisers and helmets. Rapido has also made it mandatory for the Captains to install the Aarogya Setu app and adhere to a checklist of items and declaration. The steps would be performed every time a Captains goes online. The Captains have also been asked to maintain personal hygiene and sanitise their bikes at regular intervals.
The bike taxi services will be operational in the green and orange zones only. The smartphone app displays containment zones to ensure that the Captains and customers don't pass by those areas.
Rapido is providing free cancellation if any of its Captains or customers come without a mask. Customers and Captains can give feedback about the mask and the use of sanitiser after every ride.
