US-based cruiser manufacturer Regal Motors has announced that they will be launching three motorcycles in the Indian market, in the next few weeks. The announcement was made at the Hyderabad International Auto Show 2015, where the company also showcased its line-up.
The three Regal Raptor motorcycles to be launched in India are - Regal Raptor Bobber, Daytona 350 and DD 350E 9B. All three cruisers are powered by the same 320cc twin-cylinder engine, which is rated at 22.8bhp and 22Nm of torque. All three models come with a five-speed transmission.
To facilitate its operations in India, Regal Raptor has tied up with a recently-floated Hyderabad-based automotive business group, called FAB Motors (Fabulous and Beyond Motors India). The Rs 600-crore enterprise will be responsible for manufacturing and distribution of Regal Raptor motorcycles in India and eight other markets including Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Yemen.
The motorcycles sold in India and the other eight countries are going to be locally assembled from imported completely knocked down (CKD) units, in Hyderabad. The company also announced that they were in the process of setting up a new plant in Telangana, with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, over the next four years.
