Riding a motorcycle on a race track has always been expensive affair. The cost of transportation, track rent and accommodation makes it inaccessible to a lot of enthusiasts. But not anymore.
Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) has come up with track days that will let enthusiasts from across the country rent a bike and ride on the track. However, for now, there will be only one bike to choose from, the Honda CBR150R. But this is a motorcycle that has been built for the track by the Japanese manufacturer. The cost of a 10-laps session has been priced between Rs 1000 and Rs 1500, which is excellent.
In order to be eligible for this track day, the rider needs to hold a valid riding or competition licence. MMRT has set aside 20 days every year for this track day experience and the schedule will be available on its official website soon.
This is a brilliant initiative by MMRT. Thanks to this, a lot of young riders will get to experience the world of motorsports at a reasonable cost. But do note that in case of any crash, the rider needs to take care of all the expense inccurred.
