- Test vehicle showcased at the Japan Mobility show
- To be equipped with a 70Mpa hydrogen tank
- Likely to be used for the Burgman 400 ABS
Suzuki has officially showcased the hydrogen-powered Burgman test model at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. The Japanese brand has revealed a few details of this upcoming maxi-scooter and here’s what we know about it.
On the design front, the hydrogen-powered Suzuki Burgman test scooter gets a sharp design with relatively large proportions. Its fascia is made of a split headlight with a smoked visor setup. It gets proper maxi-scooter bodywork and hence there’s a central spine as well as a scooped single-piece seat with a lower-back support for the rider. Overall, it is based on the Burgman 400 ABS.
The new Burgman will use a 70Mpa hydrogen tank, which will likely be located under the floorboard. It will be connected directly to the engine and use a combustion setup instead of a fuel cell. Suzuki plans to use the hydrogen engine in the currently available Burgman 400 ABS.
So, the hardware setup is likely to remain unchanged. The hydrogen Burgman model could get telescopic front forks and a monoshock with a dual front and single rear disc brake. Its wheel measures 15 inches and is wrapped in 120/70 front and 150/70 rear tyres.
As of now, Suzuki has only showcased the test scooter and the production version is likely to take some time before an official debut is slated. Apart from this, Suzuki has also showcased the e-Burgman at the Japan Mobility Show. You can read more about it in the next story.
