- First lot deliveries have begun
- Currently only being delivered in Bengaluru
- The final asking price is yet to be revealed
Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler startup, River, recently launched its maiden product, the Indie e-scooter. Now, the deliveries for its first lot have begun and the brand has started catering to the Bengaluru customers.
During its debut earlier this year, the Indie was offered at Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). However, with the recent change in the FAME II subsidy, River has decided to alter the asking price and the final amount is yet to be revealed. So, the aforementioned price tag is only valid for buyers based in Bengaluru. Others will likely have to wait until River reveals the updated prices and then make the final purchase decision. Moreover, the scooter was set to be offered with the pannier racks as standard, as mentioned during its launch. But that too is now valid only for the buyers from River’s home turf.
We recently rode the scooter and came back quite impressed with quite a few bits. The Indie gets commendable build quality, quirky design and a laudable storage capacity of 55-litres. The underboot can easily store a full-face helmet and still have more than enough room for other items. Then, there’s a front glovebox that too is quite practical. Powering the Indie electric scooter is a 4kWh battery offering 120km of maximum range in Eco mode and a 4.5kW motor with a top speed of 90kmph in the Rush mode.
The features list on the River Indie includes LED lights, fully digital console, three ride modes (Eco, Ride, and Rush), USB charging, underseat lighting, side stand cut-off, and CBS.
