A new player called River has entered the Indian electric two-wheeler arena with the Indie electric scooter. It lies on the premium side of the pricing spectrum and gets a bunch of quirky yet functional bits. In case you’re wondering what kind of package it offers, let us quickly take you through its features and specifications along with its pictures.
One of the standout traits of the Indie is its funky styling. The square-shaped dual LED headlamp and a boxy rear section make it look quite unconventional. Adding to its visual appeal are vibrant colour options.
Adding to its quirks are side crash guards which are integrated within the side panels and look like grab rails. Moreover, River has also equipped the scooter with lock-and-load pannier stays for adding some luggage.
While the footboard is already sizeable, the Bengaluru-based brand has thoughtfully incorporated additional footrests which pop out from the sides. These can be used at times when the floorboard is occupied with something.
The Indie is also impressive in terms of storage space. Besides a profoundly large 43-litre underseat storage provision, it offers a lockable 12-litre glove box at the front.
The list of features also includes a large LCD instrument cluster which shows all the crucial data, a pair of USB charging ports, and a reverse parking assist.
Powering the e-scooter’s 6.7kW motor is a 4kWh battery pack which is claimed to deliver a range of 120km. Further, the top speed is rated at 90kmph.
River has priced the Indie electric scooter at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and pre-orders for it is open through the brand’s official website. Initially, it will be available only in Bengaluru where deliveries will commence in August 2023.
