Royal Enfield has announced that it has commenced operations at its new CKD assembly plant in Thailand. The new facility is located in Thailand's Samut Prakan province, and is Royal Enfield's first completely owned and operated facility outside of India.
Barring India, Thailand is Royal Enfield's biggest market in Asia. Besides Thailand, Royal Enfield has CKD assembly plants in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Bangladesh, and Nepal. The Thailand facility is spread across 57,000sq ft and has a capacity of assembling 30,000 motorcycles annually. The new facility will also house a traning center to train plant employees and dealership personnel.
Royal Enfield has had a busy year and the company has already launched the Guerrilla 450, Bear 650, and the Goan Classic 350 in 2024. The company recently showcased the Classic 650 Twin and the Scram 440 at Motoverse 2024. Both motorcycles will be launched in India in early 2025.
