- Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey dates announced
- To be held from 2 July to 18 July
- Riders to cover around 2,700km over 18 days
Royal Enfield has announced that it will conduct its much-coveted Himalayan Odyssey ride in July this year, after a hiatus of three years. Besides giving Royal Enfield riders an opportunity to ride through the majestic Himalayas, the expedition is also aimed to propagate the notion of a sustainable motorcycle journey.
The Himalayan Odyssey will be held from 2 July to 18 July, 2022. As many as 70 riders will be a part of the journey who will split up into two groups and take two different routes. For both groups, the journey will start from Delhi and end at Leh, with one of them scaling the mountains of Ladakh and the other traversing through Spiti. Over the course of 18 days, the riders will be covering a distance of close to 2,700km on their Royal Enfield motorcycles. One of the main highlights of the 18th Himalayan Odyssey is the visit to Umling La pass which, at 19,024 feet above sea level, is the new highest motorable pass in the world.
Royal Enfield also intends to endorse responsible travel practices on this ride by following a zero ‘single-use-plastic’ theme. And we think this is a great move considering the increasing number of tourists visiting the Himalayas these days and leaving this beautiful region badly littered. Readers interested in participating in the ride can do so by logging on to Royal Enfield’s official website, where all the details and itinerary of the expedition are available in detail.
