The new Royal Enfield Hunter 350, which was spotted on several occasions in the past through spy images and videos, is expected to reach the Indian shores this year. The motorcycle will rival the likes of the Honda CB 350 RS and the Jawa Forty-Two Version 2.1. While the company is yet to reveal the finer details, here we tell you everything that we know about the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350.
Engine
The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will most likely use the same motor that currently powers the Meteor 350. Based on the company’s new J-platform, the 349cc, air and oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine is tuned to produce 20.2bhp of power and 27Nm of peak torque. We expect to see similar numbers on the Hunter 350. The motor will be linked to a five-speed transmission.
Design
The Hunter 350 will feature a retro-design, although it will be noticeably different from any other 350cc model from Royal Enfield. The styling cues will include a round headlamp with a chrome bezel at the front, a dual-pod instrument cluster with the company’s new Tripper navigation module, a straight handlebar, a single-piece saddle, a stubby and short exhaust canister, and alloy wheels. As seen in the spy photographs, most components on the motorcycle will feature a black finish that will lend it a modern roadster appeal. The Hunter 350 should feature a relatively low seat height, which would make it more accessible even for shorter riders.
Hardware
The hardware on the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will include telescopic front forks and twin-sided rear springs to perform the suspension tasks. The front forks will use gaiters to protect the oil-seals from dust and debris. The braking setup on the motorcycle will include single discs on both wheels. The motorcycle will ride on alloy wheels that will come wrapped in tubeless tyres.
Features
The feature list will be basic, and the Hunter 350 will use a halogen headlight at the front. The instrument cluster will feature a semi-digital setup along with the Tripper Navigation system that delivers turn-by-turn directions. The safety-net on the Hunter 350 will comprise a dual-channel antilock braking system.
Expected price and launch
The upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350, as mentioned before, will compete against the likes of Honda CB 350 RS and the Jawa Forty-Two Version 2.1. Thus, we expect the motorcycle to arrive in the Rs 1.70-Rs 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom) price bracket. The motorcycle should arrive in the country in late-2021.
