- Priced close to the UK-bound Royal Enfield Interceptor 650
- The premium changes as per the paint options
- To be launched by mid-August
After postponing its launch plans earlier this year, BSA has now revealed the launch timeline and the price range for its middleweight offering, the Gold Star. The retro-offering will make its debut by mid-August in the UK.
The asking price for BSA Gold Star starts from GBP 6,500 (approx Rs 6.15 lakh sans taxes) in the United Kingdom. Further, the premium bumps up to GBP 6,800 and GBP 7,000 as per the choice of paint options. Now, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is priced at around GBP 6,200 (approximately Rs 5.87 lakh) which is way more than what we pay for it here. So, the BSA bikes are set to retail in the same price bracket as the Royal Enfield offering.
The BSA Gold Star is powered by a liquid-cooled 652cc single-cylinder mill that develops 45.83bhp and 55 Nm. For reference, the Interceptor 650 dishes out 47.65bhp and 52Nm. It’s suspended on conventional front forks, and dual rear shocks and gets a single disc at both ends.
As of now, BSA hasn’t confirmed its entry into the Indian market. But if it does, we expect the bikes to be priced similar to the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
