- New Royal Enfield riding jacket launched
- Gets titanium shoulder sliders
- Costs around Rs 15,000
Royal Enfield has expanded its riding jacket line-up with the launch of the Crossroader – a jacket made for adventure riders. This jacket has been priced at Rs 14,950 and can be purchased at the company’s official website.
With the Crossroader, the company is focusing more on safety, and that is why it has equipped it with titanium shoulder sliders. This is the first time the Indian market has seen something like this, and it could also be the fact that the regular protectors do the job. However, with the titanium sliders, Royal Enfield is looking to position some of its riding gear in the premium category.
In terms of construction, the company has used the high abrasion resistant fabric and Cordura patches have been used at impact areas. The shoulder and elbow protectors are level 2 ones from Knox, and for the back, level 2 Ergo pro tech armour has been used. Interestingly, the chest armour is level 1. There are a few more features like giving a space to keep the medical card or ID and the jacket also comes with a high-visibility rain jacket.
The Crossroader jacket looks quite cool and the overall fitting is likely to offer good comfort too. But with a price tag of Rs 15,000, it may not sell as expected. But a lot of Himalayan 450 buyers are likely to at least give it a try.
