Royal Enfield has partnered with the popular helmet intercom brand Sena to launch a new device called 50S. This mesh communicator is available at Rs. 35,990 which is the same price as Sena’s official portfolio. The 50S can be retrofitted to most helmets available in the market and boasts some interesting features.
In terms of connectivity, an unlimited number of users can be connected with each other at once on the open mesh intercom connection. The range of connection is touted to be from 2km to 8km, depending on the obstacles in the line of connection and the number of users connected. With Bluetooth 5-enabled, it can be connected to a smartphone to tweak the functionalities and audio settings of the 50S. Moreover, it will be compatible with Wave intercom which offers unlimited range via cellular networks. This will be integrated following a firmware update scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024.
The speakers and microphone have been made in association with Harman Kardon while it also supports voice-assisted digital access. The buttons boast a jog dial which is glove-friendly. Lastly, the lithium polymer battery of 50S can be charged in 2.5 hours and delivers a backup of up to 12 hours.
